Sweet Juices of Niagara

21Oct12

Everything that is within our reach is always taken for granted. For years I have been wanting to do a wine tour of Niagara Region, one of the most famous Canadian wine countries. This fall it finally happened when I joined in exploring the wine country and drinking well before 11 am! The image of buses full of seniors eager to drink were replaced with young, hip crowd who wanted to learn more about wine and wine making, but was still eager to drink (or to continue drinking from the night before).

Do not miss on an opportunity to explore beautiful Niagara Region, to wonder through dusty wine cellars, and to have a glass or two of wine. If you can, visit the wineries during the harvest season because only then you can eat grapes and drink the wine that was made from them. One of my favourite moments was sitting in Inniskillin vineyard, surrounded by Vidal grapes while sipping Vidal ice wine.

Cheers!

Thank you to Flat Rock Cellars, Inniskillin and Vineyard Winery Estate for hospitality and tours.
